What is Warm Current?

The idea for Warm Current started in 2008 with three good friends traveling in South America. We experienced a sadly unfamiliar sight: a ton of people who loved the water (or would love to know it) but simply couldn’t afford access.

Then there was the familiar: so many old wetsuits of surfers, windsurfers and kayakers sitting in closets–or worse, being discarded as trash.

At that moment a solution seemed quite obvious. We decided to tackle both of these problems and we’ve called it Warm Current.

Our hope is to spread the pure joy of ocean recreation to individuals who could otherwise not afford it, both in our local communities and around the world.

    Our Goals:

  • Increase access to outdoor recreation opportunities for underprivileged individuals
  • Increase environmental awareness and stewardship within the communities we work with
  • Decrease the amount of “waste” generated by the outdoor community
